The billionaire Yeezy designer makes the donation in Chicago around one month after he teamed up with the Los Angeles Mission to deliver 1,000 Thanksgiving Eve meals in the city.

AceShowbizKanye West is embracing the spirit of Christmas. The “Donda” artist found himself being labeled “modern-day Santa” after he reportedly donated 4,000 toys to a toy drive on the South Side of Chicago.

Revealing Ye’s generous act was Chicago Alderman Stephanie Coleman. Coleman claimed that the toys were given away at a Sunday, December 19 event in Englewood, 16th Ward inside the Kennedy King College gymnasium.

Grateful of Ye’s donation, Coleman told ABC7, “I’m so proud that Kanye is, once again, responding to our request to help the children of Englewood and beyond.” Coleman added, “He is no stranger to our community. His presence has always been felt in our neighborhoods and he loves visiting, but this Christmas he has truly been our modern-day Santa Claus.”

In addition to the Yeezy designer, local business owners, leaders of the community and residents contributed to the toy drive. Families who attended the event were given food and could play games and win prizes while getting their toys.

Ye has been making charitable efforts around the country. In November, he joined forces with the Los Angeles Mission to deliver 1,000 Thanksgiving Eve meals in the city. Most recently, he organized the Free Larry Hoover benefit concert. The gig was aimed at raising money to help Larry, who’s serving six life sentences for gang activity, get released from jail.

“I’m asking Drake on December 7th to join me on stage as a special guest to share the two biggest albums of the year. Live in Los Angeles with the ultimate purpose being to free Larry Hoover,” the estranged husband of Kim Kardashian said in a video statement earlier this month. “I believe that this event won’t only being awareness to our cause but prove to people everywhere how much more we could accomplish when lay our pride to the side and come together.”
