Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux 'hold hands' after pet dog's death07/29/2019
Estranged couple Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux appear to have reunited in sadness this weekend to mourn the death of their pet dog Dolly.
Justin, 47, shared the devastating news of Dolly’s passing with his Instagram followers on Monday, and included a sweet tribute of photos of his beloved pooch along with snaps from the peaceful funeral service.
In the caption, the Tropic Thunder writer said: ‘Tonight, at sunset, after a heroic struggle… our most loyal family member and protector, Dolly A. laid down her sword and shield.
‘She was surrounded by her entire family.’
Justin then included a quote from George Vest, which said: ‘The one that never deserts, the one that never proves ungrateful… is the dog— faithful and true, even in death,’ before adding the hashtags #adoptdontshop and #rescuedog.
The photos which accompanied the post featured Dolly laying on the ground with colourful flower petals strewn on top of her. A mourner appears to be holding a stick of incense above her before Dolly is lovingly wrapped in a thick blanket.
However, a picture showing Justin holding hands with a woman whose face can’t be seen has prompted many to speculate that it is his ex-wife Jennifer.
Many have particularly focused on Justin noting that Dolly was surrounded by her ‘entire family’, seemingly suggesting that Jennifer was in attendance.
Jennifer, 50, and Justin announced their split in February 2018 after two years of marriage.
In a joint statement, the couple said: ‘Normally we would do this privately, but given that the gossip industry cannot resist an opportunity to speculate and invent, we wanted to convey the truth directly.
‘Whatever else is printed about us that is not directly from us, is someone else’s fictional narrative. Above all, we are determined to maintain the deep respect and love that we have for one another.’
Several months later, Justin broke his silence on their separation and spoke highly of the Murder Mystery actress, stating there was ‘no animosity’ between them.
