Honey Boo Boos Mama June hospitalised after suffering from severe headaches

Honey Boo Boo matriarch, Mama June, was unexpectedly hospitalised after medics feared for her health during a routine check-up.

Reality star, June Shannon, 43, who is currently starring in Mama June: Road to Redemption, told her doctor that she had been suffering from painful headaches and periods of dizziness during a routine check up on Monday.

However after hearing the news, the doctor became concerned that the symptoms could be something more serious and admitted the star to hospital to get the condition properly checked out.

Speaking to TMZ about the ordeal on Wednesday, June revealed that she had been an inpatient at the hospital ever since her doctor first raised the alarm, yet despite multiple tests and scans, have yet to offer her a diagnosis.

June did however adamantly confirm that she has not had a relapse, after having publicly shared her struggle with drug addiction in the past.

Covering the topic during her current reality series, Mama June: Road to Redemption, June shared an insight into her recovery as she beat her addiction with the help and support of her family and friends.

Since being admitted to hospital earlier this week, June has been supported by her new husband Justin Stroud, who regularly visits and keeps her company as medics continue to investigate the cause of her symptoms.

It isn’t the first health problem June has suffered with, as she was previously hit with a raft of health problems as a result of her obesity, with the reality star weighing in at 460lbs when she was at her heaviest.

Alongside her now ex-boyfriend Geno Doak, they decided to address the issue together as they both underwent weight loss surgery in 2016, leading to June losing over 300lbs and radically improving her health.

In July this year, June’s daughter Alana, better known to the world as Honey Boo Boo, also revealed she was considering the same procedure to help her lose weight after fearing she may have developed diabetes like her father Mike 'Sugar Bear' Thompson.

At just 17 years old Alana was keen to make a big change to her life, but also expressed concerns over the procedure itself, which was scheduled to take place in August.

June supported her daughter’s decision to try and improve her health, but did encourage her to wait until she was at least 18 to undergo such a serious and life altering procedure, reports TMZ.
