Former Corrie star Lucy-Jo Hudson admits co-parenting never gets easier12/19/2021
Lucy-Jo Hudsonhad candidly opened up on the hardships of co-parenting as she admits she misses her daughter while she’s away.
Wild at Heart actor Lucy-Jo, 38, shares her eight year old daughter Sienna with her ex-husband Alan Halsall, 39.
Lucy-Jo and Alan tied the knot in 2009 after meeting on Coronation Street, but went their separate ways in 2016.
They briefly reconciled after then, but officially split in 2018.
Since then, the pair have been co-parenting their daughter, and Alan has recently whisked the eight year old away to Finland with his girlfriend Tisha Merry.
While Sienna had been away, Lucy-Jo admitted that she missed her daughter and expressed her excitement of her coming home.
Sharing a selfie of her and Sienna on Instagram, Lucy-Jo penned on Friday 17 December: “I cannot wait to get my girl home tonight. It never gets any easier when she goes away, I miss her so much!!! But I know she will have had the best time…. Hurry home baby, miss you, especially your little brother”.
Lucy-Jo also shares one year old Carter with partner Lewis Devine.
Dozens of the actor’s 174,000 Instagram followers took to the comments section of her post to give their support, and shared their own experiences of co-parenting.
“I use to feel the same when my daughter was little. It’s so important that they spend quality time with both parents though,” wrote one person.
“Same situation & you’re right – never easier, especially this time of year! Sending love,” said another.
“I struggle so much now, I hate being away from my little lady,” a third wrote.

Meanwhile, another of Lucy-Jo’s followers empathised with Sienna.
“I once was Sienna. We lived i Sheffield my Father in Birmingham and we used to do the handover in a car park in Derbyshire. You are doing the right thing. Sienna is so lucky to have 2 lots of caring parents who love her dearly,” they wrote.
Lucy-Jo has previously opened up about the difficulties of co-parenting following a fallout with Alan after her partner Lewis described Sienna as “our Sienna” on social media.
Alan appeared to then hit out at Lewis posting a since-deleted Instagram story that read: “You’re welcome to keep the lying cheating one & call her your own! But not my daughter."
Discussing the matter at the time, Lucy-Jo told OK!: “I had literally just given birth to Carter when he posted that so I didn’t see it and my head was elsewhere. He quickly deleted it so he must have regretted it.
"I didn’t bother bringing it up with him. Lew and I were both too focused on Carter so it just didn’t get our attention.”
Lewis then said: "We didn’t actually have a fall out about it – that was just press speculation."
Lucy-Jo continued to add: "No, but the thing is, everybody who has a blended family knows it’s not easy. You can’t pretend that it is. And me and Alan sometimes have different views on raising Sienna so trying to co-parent can be challenging. It’s probably like that for a lot of blended families."
