Dianne Buswell ‘rushed to A&E’ after Strictly partner Dev Griffin ‘dropped her from 8ft’

Dianne Buswell and Dev Griffin have been hard at work in rehearsals for their street/commercial performance which they will show off on Strictly Come Dancing tomorrow night.

But the professional dancer suffered a serious accident this week as she fell 8ft after Dev reportedly lost his grip whilst rotating her above his shoulders.

Dianne, who is in a relationship with Joe Sugg, is said to be fine after the horrible fall and is still expected to be performing with Dev tomorrow, according to The Sun.

“Dev let her slip from his grasp and Dianne fell and landed on her head. It couldn’t have been worse,” a source told the publication.

“It was horrible to watch Dianne lying prostrate on the floor. Dev was desperate at what had happened. It was a total accident but he felt 100 per cent responsible.”

The source added: “He was praying that there was no serious damage — the worst case scenario was that she had some internal head injuries.”

Dev was reported to be in “total shock” after the accident.

The publication states Dianne was released from North London’s Barnet Hospital hospital after doctors diagnosed whiplash.

She was in rehearsals today with Dev and was even answering questions about their performance on Instagram this evening.

One person asked her: “Favourite routine with Dev out of the 3 you have done so far?”

Dianne replied back in good spirits: “I think tomorrow night’s one it’s going to be so much fun.”

The pair will be dancing their couples’ choice routine to Friend Like Me’ by Will Smith from Aladdin on Saturday night.

Revealing the reason behind their decision to pick street/commercial, Dev said on It Takes Two: “Thinking about the last two dances I’ve done, even though I’ve really enjoyed them, it’s so far away from what I know.

“I feel like this is a great opportunity for my personality to come out, I’m not hiding behind a frame or worried about my posture and stuff.

“This is really fun really energetic routine.”

Dev will transform in the Genie, while Dianne will be taking on the role of Abu, the monkey.

Dianne shared the news with her Instagram followers in the week, writing: “Yessss that’s right I’m gonna be Abu and dev is the genie !!!!!!

“I am so excited to be a cheeky monkey @dev @bbcstrictly movie week.”

Last weekend, James Cracknell was eliminated from the competition and David James is the next celebrity favourite to be voted off.

Strictly Come Dancing airs Saturday on BBC One.
