Celine Dion, 54, has taken to Instagram to share a short message to her fans at Christmas as she continues to battle her own health issues. The record-breaking singer made sure to wish her fans “the best of health” and a Merry Christmas at this time of year.

Wishing you love, happiness, the best of health.

Last night, Celine shared a new video message with fans wishing them a happy Christmas in both English and French.

Standing in front of a Christmas tree in a lilac hoodie and white gilet, she said: “Merry Christmas everyone! Joyeux Noël à tous.”

Celine then shared in English and in French: “Wishing you love, happiness, the best of health.”

Blowing a kiss, she concluded: “À bientôt, bye-bye,” with a wave.

Many of her 5.4 million Instagram followers rushed to the comments to share their holiday wishes to the singer.

Martinwalvarez added: “Wishing a very merry Christmas & healthy recovering.”

Celinedionca commented: “Best of health to YOU Céline! Take care of you and come back to us when you’re ready! Love.”

This comes after Celine took to Instagram earlier this month to announce that she had been diagnosed with Stiff Person Syndrome (SPS), a rare neurological disorder with features of an autoimmune disease.

The French Canadian singer told her Instagram followers the condition makes her muscles spasm uncontrollably.

It had led to difficulties walking and singing, she said, meaning she had to postpone her upcoming tour of the UK and mainland Europe next year.

She said: “I’ve been dealing with problems with my health for a long time.

“And it’s been really difficult for me to face these challenges and to talk about everything that I’ve been going through.

“Recently I’ve been diagnosed with a very rare neurological disorder called Stiff Person Syndrome which affects something like one-in-a-million people.

“While we’re still learning about this rare condition, we now know this is what’s been causing all of the spasms I’ve been having.”

She added: “Unfortunately, these spasms affect every aspect of my daily life, sometimes causing difficulties when I walk and not allowing me to use my vocal chords to sing the way I’m used to.

“It hurts me to tell you today that this means I won’t be ready to restart my tour in Europe in February.”

In 2014, the My Heart Will Go On singer announced that she was putting her career on hold “indefinitely” as her late husband René Angélil battled cancer.

Although her performances resumed a year later, she stepped away from the stage again in early 2016, following the tragic deaths of both Angélil and her brother, Daniel Dion.

She eventually returned with the 2019 studio album Courage, which featured collaborations with Sia, Sam Smith and David Guetta.
