Alison Hammond, 46, has hit back at a This Morning viewer who slammed her presenting skills on the ITV programme. The former Big Brother star, who fronts the show with Dermot O’Leary on Fridays, was criticised for “messing up” during her hosting stints.

The viewer claimed in response to a recent tweet from This Morning’s official page: “Why do we need to see @AlisonHammond?

“It’s bad enough that she messes up Fridays – which I no longer watch.”

Fortunately, Alison was able to brush off the critical comment, as she responded in view of her 366,000 followers this afternoon.

She simply wrote back to the Twitter user: “I’m so loved,” alongside a smiling face with hearts emoji.

Fans took to the comments section of Alison’s post to share supportive messages with the presenter following the angry remark from the viewer.

One person replied: “You are loved by many. You’re never going to please everyone Alison. The sad thing is she had no reason to leave this on social media, let alone tag you in it. It just shows the type of person she is. Your energy is much needed.”

Another added: “Please ignore her Alison! You are amazing and you brighten up people’s days! Xxx.”

A third fan commented: “Alison you actually have made me smile and laugh so many times I’ve felt rubbish and really down. Keep doing what you do as we all love it and need it.”

A fourth wrote: “I would love to see more of you, I b****y love you, more please.”

A fifth penned: “Just ignore her, you are doing great on Friday’s with dermot, both of u are so funny and entertaining.”(sic)

It comes after Alison stunned viewers on social media when the television star seemed to forget that Joan Rivers had died.

The error took place when Alison and Dermot were given a virtual tour around the penthouse of the late comedian last month.

The luxury New York property was the home of Joan, who resided at the property for 28 years until her death in 2014, aged 81.

Moments after being given a look at Joan’s former home, Alison seemed to make a blunder, forgetting that the iconic star had died some years ago.

Alison asked: “What about Joan Rivers? She’s got a lovely New York penthouse, hasn’t she?”

To which property expert Leonard Sternberg responded: “Well this used to be Joan Rivers’ penthouse, which was carved out, it’s a huge penthouse, it’s like stepping into the 18th Century Versailles. This is currently asking for £27million, it just came onto the market.”

Correcting Alison’s error, he added: “Of course, Joan passed away, tragically, seven years ago and it has since been owned by someone else.

“But the late actress is selling this home for $38million or £27million, it has 11 rooms.”

One fan tweeted in response to the mishap: “Alison obviously blissfully unaware that Joan Rivers is actually dead #ThisMorning.”

Another added: “Classic Alison talking about Joan Rivers having a NY penthouse, not realising she died seven years ago! #ThisMorning.”

Alison and Dermot host on Fridays after it was revealed that veteran stars Eamonn Holmes and his wife Ruth Langsford were to front only the half-term episodes of This Morning.

The pair were announced as the new hosts back in January.
