Alex Rodriguez Shares a Behind-the-Scenes Look at J.Lo’s Upcoming Super Bowl Performance12/23/2019
Alex Rodriguez just provided the world with a sneak peek at fiancée Jennifer Lopez’s upcoming headliner Super Bowl performance.
Today on Instagram, the former World Series–winning baseball player shared two brief snaps of Lopez rehearsing for her Super Bowl LIV gig that will also feature Shakira on February 2, 2020.
In the first clip, Lopez is seen with a crowd of young dancers cheering at the fact that Rodriguez delivered them ice cream while on a break from choreography rehearsals. “All they wanted was a little ice cream 🍦❤️ #superbowlrehearsals,” Rodriguez captioned the quick clip.
Rodriguez’s second post showcases Lopez doing what she does best—busting a move and showing off her envy-inducing abs. It features the Golden Globe nominee giving her best freestyle choreography while Nina Sky’s ever-nostalgic “Move Ya Body” plays in the background. Rodriguez cheekily captioned this post, “This is how I feel about Christmas shopping.”
The highly anticipated performance from Lopez and Shakira is sure to be a momentous one—it will be the first time two Latinx women will be headlining the monumental sporting event. During an interview with CBS Sunday Morning, Lopez compared the Super Bowl opportunity to winning an Academy Award.
“It’s the biggest show that there is. It has the biggest audience. You get to have, like, this big production. You don’t get to do that on tour. Everything’s, like, budget-conscious and you can do this and you can do that,” explained Lopez. “It’s a different experience, and I think it’s just like a fantasy for all musical artists to be able to play the Super Bowl and have, like, that 12 minutes of an amazing show. I don’t know. There’s just something exhilarating about it.”
